Statewide access without travel
Telehealth makes it possible to protect time for the relationship without adding a commute. Couples can join from communities across Texas as long as both partners have a private setting and are physically within the state.
This statewide service is especially practical for demanding schedules, partners living apart within Texas, military families, and couples who prefer to meet from home. Access does not depend on being near a particular metro area or practice address.
Couples work for recurring patterns
Many couples arrive because the same conflict keeps returning. Others feel more like roommates, struggle after a betrayal, disagree about parenting or money, or want support through marriage, deployment, parenthood, or retirement.
John works with the pattern between two people. He does not offer individual therapy, assessment, diagnosis-led treatment, medication, or services for children. Common starting points include communication problems, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, and rebuilding trust.
An active, relational approach
John is an LMFT Associate under supervision. His work is attachment-based and informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy, with narrative therapy and practical tools.
He helps each partner understand what they are protecting when the cycle takes over. The goal is not to choose a winner, but to make the pattern visible and create room for a different response.
The Texas requirement is firm
Both partners must be physically located in Texas at the time of the session. A Texas resident traveling in another state cannot attend until physically back in Texas, and a partner living outside Texas cannot join the couples session from there.
If you are uncertain about a travel or location situation, raise it before scheduling rather than assuming an exception can be made.
What a session actually looks like
You meet together for 50 minutes on one or two screens. John often begins with a recent moment and slows the exchange down so each person can name what happened beneath criticism, defensiveness, silence, or pursuit.
He stays active, checks whether both partners feel understood, and gives you one practical focus to carry into the week. No counselor can guarantee an outcome.
Beginning from anywhere in Texas
The initial 30-minute consultation is free and gives both partners a chance to assess fit. Ongoing sessions are $175 for 50 minutes and private pay.

Common Questions
Can partners join from different Texas locations?
Yes. You may use two screens from separate private locations as long as both partners are physically in Texas.
Does John offer in-person sessions?
No. John provides telehealth couples counseling only and has no office or physical practice address.
How long are sessions and what do they cost?
Sessions are 50 minutes and $175. The first 30-minute consultation is free. John works on a private-pay basis and does not bill insurance directly, though some couples have out-of-network benefits worth asking their plan about.
